Morris Group is pleased to welcome DTI as the business enters an exciting new chapter.
DTI is an Australian technology business that develops and delivers advanced systems for the transport sector, including surveillance, passenger information, telematics and communications solutions for bus, rail and mass transit customers.
Founded in 1995, DTI has built a strong reputation for practical, technology-led solutions that support safer, more accessible and more seamless journeys. Its customers include transport operators, vehicle manufacturers and government customers in Australia and overseas.
Chris Morris has had a long-standing connection with DTI having held shares in the business for more than 15 years and served as Chairman for nearly five years.
“My background has always been closely connected to technology and innovation, from founding Computershare through to Morris Group’s continued support of technology enabled, future-focused businesses,” Mr Morris said.
“DTI has built a strong reputation through its technical expertise, customer relationships and commitment to delivering practical technology solutions for the transport sector. We are excited to support the business as it enters this next phase.”
Chris founded Computershare in 1978, which grew from an Australian technology business into a global ASX-listed company. He remains a significant shareholder in Computershare, which is now valued at more than $20 billion. This experience has helped shape Morris Group’s long-term approach to supporting strong teams, trusted customer relationships and sustainable growth.
Morris Group is an Australian-owned, family-run group of businesses with a diverse portfolio spanning tourism, hospitality, aviation, marine, technology and other investments. Across Australia, the Group employs more than 2,000 people and takes a long-term approach to the businesses it supports.
For DTI, this next phase provides continuity, stability and opportunity. The business will continue to operate with its established leadership and customer focus, with Matthew Strack continuing as CEO. Greg Purdie, DTI’s current Chairman, will transition from that role and remain involved as a valued consultant to the business.
Mr Morris said Morris Group had great confidence in DTI’s people, capability and future.
“This next phase is about stability, confidence and opportunity,” Mr Morris said.
“We see great value in DTI’s technology, its team and its customer relationships. With Morris Group’s long-term support, DTI is well placed to continue delivering for customers while pursuing new opportunities for growth.”
Morris Group looks forward to supporting DTI, its people and its customers as the business continues to build on its strong foundations.
