Working to protect and grow renewable energy in Australia.

IMPACT AREA: Protection and restoration of the environment

Australia has some of the world’s best solar and wind resources, making more renewable energy backed by storage in the country a no-brainer. With over two and a half million solar rooftops glinting across the country, it’s fair to say that Aussies well and truly agree.

Solar Citizens believes that when Australia’s millions of solar owners and supporters stand together, we’re powerful. They run campaigns that use people power to put pressure on decision makers and bring about a renewable future for all Australians: where the rights of solar owners are protected and everyone has access to cheap, clean energy. Solar Citizens are independent, meaning that they don’t support any one political party, company or organisation over another.

The Morris Family Foundation supports Solar Citizens’ ‘Making Queensland the Sun-powered State’ project, which is working to build support for renewable energy in key areas of North Queensland, which stand to benefit from the renewables transition if the opportunity is seized. This includes the Renewable Energy Zone in North Queensland and the potential Townsville Renewable Hydrogen hub.
