Root Capital is a global agricultural microfinance organisation that invests in the success of smallholder farmers in South and Central America, sub-Saharan Africa, and Southeast Asia.
They combine investment with customised training to develop financial management, governance, and agronomic capacity; and have a particular focus on women-led businesses. They work with farmers on climate resilience, sequestering carbon through tree crops and supporting clients to achieve organic, Fairtrade, or Rainforest Alliance certifications.
