In 2020, the Ripe for Change community grants program (founded by Morris Family Foundation and now funded by a collaboration of philanthropists) granted $133,000 to 17 different projects working to change the food systems of the Mornington Peninsula and Casey Cardinia region in the South East of Victoria.

This year’s grant recipients are changing the food system with projects to attract young farmers into agriculture, training of local farms in regenerative agriculture techniques, indigenous food workshops, supporting wholesale distribution networks, seed availability and community gardens providing access to at risk communities.
